Sunday Audio Service – Easter 3 – Morning Worship – 19/4/26

Speaker:
Passage: Isaiah 40: 1-11, Acts 2: 14a, 36-41
Service Type:

COME, LET US SING OF A WONDERFUL LOVE,
Tender and true.
Out of the heart of the Father above,
Streaming to me and to you:
Wonderful love
Dwells in the heart of the Father above.

Jesus, the Saviour, this gospel to tell,
Joyfully came.
Came with the helpless and hopeless to dwell,
Sharing their sorrow and shame.
Seeking the lost,
Saving, redeeming at measureless cost.

Jesus is seeking the wanderers yet.
Why do they roam?
Love only waits to forgive and forget.
Home, weary wanderer, home!
Wonderful love
Dwells in the heart of the Father above.

Come to my heart, O Thou wonderful love,
Come and abide,
Lifting my life, till it rises above
Envy and falsehood and pride,
Seeking to be
Lowly and humble, a learner of Thee.
      Robert Walmsley.

FROM HEAVEN YOU CAME,
Helpless babe,
Entered our world, Your glory veiled.
Not to be served But to serve,
And give Your life That we might live.

This is our God, The Servant King,
He calls us now To follow Him,
To bring our lives As a daily offering
Of worship to The Servant King.

There in the garden Of tears,
My heavy load He chose to bear.
His heart with sorrow Was torn,
‘Yet not My will But Yours,’ He said.

Come see His hands And His feet,
The scars that speak Of sacrifice.
Hands that flung stars Into space
To cruel nails Surrendered.

So let us learn How to serve,
And in our lives Enthrone Him.
Each other’s needs To prefer,
For it is Christ We’re serving.
     Graham Kendrick.

O LOVE THAT WILT NOT LET ME GO,
I rest my weary soul in thee:
I give thee back the life I owe,
That in thine ocean depths its flow
May richer, fuller be.

O light that followest all my way,
I yield my flickering torch to thee:
My heart restores its borrowed ray,
That in thy sunshine’s blaze its day
May brighter, fairer be.

O joy that seekest me through pain,
I cannot close my heart to thee:
I trace the rainbow through the rain,
And feel the promise is not vain,
That morn shall tearless be.

O cross that liftest up my head,
I dare not ask to fly from thee:
I lay in dust life’s glory dead,
And from the ground there blossoms red
Life that shall endless be.

PRAISE TO THE LORD, THE ALMIGHTY,
the King of creation!
O my soul, praise Him, for He is thy health and salvation!
All ye who hear, Brothers and sisters, draw near,
Praise Him in glad adoration.

Praise to the Lord, who doth prosper thy work and defend thee.
Surely His goodness and mercy here daily attend thee:
Ponder anew What the Almighty can do,
Who with His love doth befriend thee.

Praise to the Lord, who doth nourish thy life and restore thee,
Fitting thee well for the tasks that are ever before thee,
Then to thy need He like a mother doth speed,
Spreading the wings of grace o’er thee.

Praise to the Lord, who when tempests their warfare are waging,
Who, when the elements madly around thee are raging,
Biddeth them cease, Turneth their fury to peace,
Whirlwinds and waters assuaging.

Praise to the Lord, who, when darkness of sin is abounding,
Who, when the godless do triumph, all virtue confounding,
Sheddeth His light, Chaseth the horrors of night,
Saints with His mercy surrounding.

Praise to the Lord! O let all that is in me adore Him!
All that hath life and breath, come now with praises before Him!
Let the Amen Sound from His people again:
Gladly for aye we adore Him.
