Sunday Audio Service – Family Communion – Trinity 9 – 14/8/22
THOU, WHOSE ALMIGHTY WORD
Chaos and darkness heard,
And took their flight.
Hear us, we humbly pray,
And where the gospel-day
Sheds not its glorious ray,
Let there be light!
Thou who didst come to bring,
On Thy redeeming wing,
Healing and sight.
Health to the sick in mind,
Sight to the inly blind,
O now to all mankind
Let there be light!
Spirit of truth and love,
Life-giving, holy Dove,
Speed forth Thy flight.
Move on the waters’ face,
Bearing the lamp of grace,
And in earth’s darkest place
Let there be light!
Blessèd and holy Three,
Glorious Trinity,
Wisdom, love, might.
Boundless as ocean’s tide
Rolling in fullest pride,
Through the world far and wide
Let there be light!
John Marriott.

ABBA FATHER, let me be
Yours and Yours alone.
May my will forever be
Ever more Your own.
Never let my heart grow cold,
Never let me go.
Abba Father, let me be
Yours and Yours alone.

BREAK THOU THE BREAD OF LIFE,
Dear Lord, to me,
As Thou didst break the bread Beside the sea.
Beyond the sacred page I seek Thee, Lord;
My spirit longs for Thee, Thou Living Word.
Thou art the Bread of Life, O Lord, to me,
Thy holy Word the truth That saveth me.
Give me to eat and live With Thee above.
Teach me to love Thy truth, For Thou art love.
O send Thy Spirit, Lord, Now unto me,
That He may touch my eyes And make me see.
Show me the truth concealed Within Thy Word,
And in Thy Book revealed, I see Thee, Lord.
Bless Thou the Bread of Life To me, to me,
As Thou didst bless the loaves By Galilee.
Then shall all bondage cease, All fetters fall,
And I shall find my peace, My all in all.
Mary A. Lathbury, Alexander Groves.

CROWN HIM WITH MANY CROWNS,
The Lamb upon His throne.
Hark, how the heavenly anthem drowns All music but its own!
Awake, my soul, and sing Of Him who died for thee,
And hail Him as thy matchless King Through all eternity.
Crown Him the Lord of life, Who triumphed o’er the grave
And rose victorious in the strife For those He came to save:
His glories now we sing, Who died and rose on high,
Who died eternal life to bring And lives that death may die.
Crown Him the Lord of love; Behold His hands and side,
Those wounds yet visible above In beauty glorified:
No angel in the sky Can fully bear that sight,
But downward bends His burning eye At mysteries so bright.
Crown Him the Lord of peace, Whose power a sceptre sways
From pole to pole, that wars may cease, And all be prayer and praise:
His reign shall know no end, And round His piercèd feet
Fair flowers of paradise extend Their fragrance ever sweet.
Crown Him the Lord of years, The Potentate of time,
Creator of the rolling spheres, Ineffably sublime!
All hail, Redeemer, hail! For Thou hast died for me.
Thy praise shall never, never fail Throughout eternity.
Matthew Bridges & Godfrey Thring.
