THERE IS A REDEEMER,
Jesus, God’s own Son,
Precious Lamb of God, Messiah,
Holy One.
Thank You, O my Father,
For giving us Your Son,
And leaving Your Spirit—
Till the work on earth is done.
Jesus my Redeemer,
Name above all names,
Precious Lamb of God, Messiah,
O for sinners slain.
When I stand in glory
I will see His face,
And there I’ll serve my King forever
In that holy place.

FATHER, HEAR THE PRAYER WE OFFER:
Not for ease that prayer shall be,
But for strength, that we may ever
Live our lives courageously.
Not for ever in green pastures
Do we ask our way to be:
But by steep and rugged pathways
Would we strive to climb to Thee.
Not for ever by still waters
Would we idly quiet stay;
But would smite the living fountains
From the rocks along our way.
Be our strength in hours of weakness,
In our wanderings be our Guide;
Through endeavour, failure, danger,
Father, be Thou at our side.
Let our path be bright or dreary,
Storm or sunshine be our share;
May our souls, in hope unweary,
Make Thy work our ceaseless prayer.

1. O come and kneel before the cross
where Jesus shed His blood
and stand in awe at what it cost
to purchase you for God.
Come see the nails that pierced His hands
and hear His anguished cry:
the pains of Hell that crushed the Lamb
to bring you Paradise.
2. O see the King of heaven
hang in agony for us.
Forsaken by His God,
He drains the foaming cup of wrath.
And still His joy could not be slain
beneath His tears of woe:
He bore the cross and scorned the shame
to welcome sinners home.
3. O come and weep for all your sin
that pierced His hands and feet,
for the Father laid your curse on Him,
His punishment, your peace.
See the crushing weight of all your guilt
now laid upon your Lord:
your sin was ended on that hill –
you bear its curse no more.
4. O hear the mighty Lion roar
His dying victory cry:
\”Now it is finished! Love has won!\”
and the grave has no reply.
We cry: \”Worthy, worthy is the Lamb
who was for sinners slain,
who shed His blood to purchase us
for heaven\’s unending day.\”

O LORD MY GOD! when I in awesome wonder
Consider all the works Thy hand hath made,
I see the stars, I hear the mighty thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed:

When through the woods and forest glades I wander
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur,
And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze.
And when I think that God His Son not sparing,
Sent Him to die—I scarce can take it in.
That on the cross my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin:
When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation
And take me home—what joy shall fill my heart!
Then shall I bow in humble adoration,
And there proclaim, my God, how great Thou art!
