Sunday Audio Service – Trinity 18 – New Morning Worship – 8/10/23

Speaker:
Passage: Isaiah 49: 13-23, Luke 12: 1-12
Service Type:

IT IS A THING MOST WONDERFUL,
Almost too wonderful to be,
That God’s own Son should come from heaven,
And die to save a child like me.

And yet I know that it is true.
He came to this poor world below,
And wept, and toiled, and mourned, and died,
Only because He loved us so.

I cannot tell how He could love,
A child so weak and full of sin.
His love must be most wonderful,
If He could die my love to win.

It is most wonderful to know,
His love for me so free and sure.
But ’tis more wonderful to see,
My love for Him so faint and poor.

And yet I want to love Thee, Lord.
O light the flame within my heart,
And I will love Thee more and more,
Until I see Thee as Thou art.

STAND UP! STAND UP FOR JESUS,
Ye soldiers of the cross!
Lift high His royal banner,
It must not suffer loss.
From victory unto victory
His army He shall lead,
Till every foe is vanquished,
And Christ is Lord indeed.

Stand up, stand up for Jesus!
The trumpet-call obey.
Forth to the mighty conflict
In this His glorious day!
Ye that are His, now serve Him,
Against unnumbered foes.
Let courage rise with danger,
And strength to strength oppose.

Stand up, stand up for Jesus!
Stand in His strength alone.
The arm of flesh will fail you,
Ye dare not trust your own.
Put on the gospel armour,
Each piece put on with prayer.
Where duty calls, or danger,
Be never wanting there.

Stand up, stand up for Jesus!
The strife will not be long.
This day the noise of battle,
The next the victor’s song.
To him that overcometh,
A crown of life shall be.
He with the King of glory
Shall reign eternally.
George Duffield.

BE, THOU MY VISION, O Lord of my heart,
Be all else but naught to me, save that Thou art;
Be, Thou my best thought in the day and the night,
Both waking and sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be, Thou my wisdom, be Thou my true word,
Be Thou ever with me, and I with Thee, Lord.
Be, Thou my great Father, and I Thy true son.
Be Thou in me, dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Be, Thou my breastplate, my sword for the fight.
Be, Thou my whole armour, be Thou my true might.
Be, Thou my soul’s shelter, be Thou my strong tower:
O raise Thou me heavenward, great Power of my power.

Riches I need not, nor man’s empty praise:
Be, Thou mine inheritance now and always.
Be Thou and Thou only the first in my heart:
O Sovereign of heaven, my treasure Thou art.

High King of heaven, Thou heaven’s bright Sun,
O grant me its joys after victory is won.
Great Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be Thou my vision, O Ruler of all.
